Brief Review of Literature Discussing Theories Essay

Brief Review of Literature Discussing Theories - Essay ExampleEqually, Bronfenbrenner, Pavlov, Skinner, Watson, Vygotsky in the midst of others, argon among the distinguished theorists who have address the issue. This paper will review literature discussing theories and theorists concerned with the cause and response to moot behaviour in children. Causes of problematic behaviour in children The augmentment of children behaviours, whether acceptable or problematic, starts at an early age. These behaviours may persist, if no intervention measures are put in place. In addition, the magnitude of the problem develops with age, as children who demonstrate problematic behaviours during their earlier years are likely to show more problems later in life (Papatheodorou, 2005 pp. 4). These behaviours start at birth, when they are controlled by external factors. Bowlbys attachment possible action asserts that infants begin to develop psychological attachment to the first people they relate w ith, and use the knowledge they acquire to shape their behaviours. The infant-parent kind is therefore very useful in influencing the environment that shapes the behaviour of the children (Wallach & Caulfield, 1998 pp. 125). According to Dowling (2009 pp. 11), developing the confidence of children at a tender age plays a major reference in shaping their behaviours. She affirms that, confidence is a driver in supporting the growth at a tender age. It is apparent that children gain confidence from the relationship they develop with their parents. Such activities as allowing children to play may increase their self-confidence, which plays a use of goods and services in shaping their behaviours (Dowling, 2009 pp. 11). John Bowlby (Arnold, 2010 pp. 21) in his study of the attachment theory affirmed that the earliest bond between children and their caregivers has a lasting effect in their lives. These affects are demonstrated in their behaviours, which may be problematic or calm. Chil dren who do not have strong attachments with their parents or caregivers usually develop oppositional-defiant, conduct disorder and in extreme cases post-traumatic depression. This makes the children aggressive, upset most of the time and having a feeling of insecurity (Arnold, 2010 pp. 23). Piagets theory about children development cements the attachment theory. According to Piaget, children have the ability to construct their own knowledge based on the experiences they go through. In addition, he affirms that accommodation and assimilation play a role in shaping the behaviours of children. As a result, children who are rejected at a tender age may learn bad traits, which are reflected in their behaviours (Bronfenbrenner, 1979 pp. 10). Domestic violence in the families also plays a major role in shaping the behaviours of children. This incidence entails any form of threatening behaviour or violence, physical, psychological, financial or sexual between two adults who have been subs isting together. Such incidences are devastating to the lives of a child who may not be aware of what is going on. What children see, hear or experience during the violence makes them diversity their perception as well as behaviours. Children who for example hear their parent scream in anger or plead in fear, will develop aggression and hatred towards a certain group of people. As a result, the hatred is reflected in their behaviours (Sterne, Poole, Chadwick, & Lawler, 2010 pp. 4). On a larger perspective, the society in which children are brought up

Combination of these developments coupled with the increasing economic interactions has resulted to mass resentment and problems that form the root cause of global insecurity. However, globalization has resulted to positive developments by offering new opportunities for the achieving economic growth and democracy (Davis, 2009). These positive effects of globalization can be used to counte r the adverse effects of globalization by addressing its root causes. September 11 apprehensionist attacks in the United States highlighted the dangers of globalization whereby the Al-Qaida terror organization executed the attacks using the developments from globalization, including effective communication technologies, global financial networks, and easy movement of people because of better modes of transport (Davis 2009). The international community responded swiftly after the terror attack and since then, enforcement of security changed dramatically. Currently, security measures are not confined to surveillance but are now more extensive, addressing issues affecting human security such as democracy, climate change, poverty, immigration, in addition to drug trafficking (Davis, 2009). According to Heuer (1999), human security is concerned with how people choke in the connection and it ranges from political governance to the economic wellbeing of the people in local and internati onal context. It entails how people exercise their free will, how they access market and social opportunities and whether they live in peace or conflict (Heuer, 1999). She made sure we did as much practical work as was feasible, and demonstrated experiments that we hadnt the equipment or time to do ourselves. She also encouraged us to read.I remember the impact reading Maynard Smiths The Theory of Evolution had on me I wanted to be able to explain such important ideas as clearly as he did. Quite naturally my first thoughts about a future career tended towards teaching I wanted to be another Mrs redacted. It is good to explain how you became interested in your subject. However, dont go too far back Notice that a specific example helps create interest. At undergraduate level, my interests became more focused. Although physiology and ecology came easy to me, it was biochemistry and cell biology that really captured my interest. We were fortunate to have good laboratories and excellent professors. I found that cell biology was an interdisciplinary undertaking today you need a foundation in chemistry, physics and nevertheless IT to be at the forefront in this subject. This interdisciplinary aspect of the subject suits my abilities well. I have always performed well in all science subjects and find it challenging to apply the knowledge to practical problems. For this reason I chose to undertake a project in my final year on the behavior of protein molecules in high energy fields at redacted. The scientists at redacted we re impressed with my practical skills and were happy to give me a recommendation that led to my present job. Details of courses and projects help to show focus. (This student went on to describe another important college project. She also gave a full description of her current scientific work. ) Many people have claimed me why I did not proceed directly to graduate studies after graduating. The answer is that I wanted to make sure that I had chosen the right subject and the right place before embarking on a course of study that would involve many years of my life. The one-year gap has also accustomed me time to work with the local Natural History Society we take families on Sunday trips to the nearby National Park to help create ken about environmental issues. I have also been a member and organizer of the redacted Film Society we watch and discuss films from all over the world. I am looking forward to furthering my interest in film in the redacted Film club, at your university, a nd I also hope to use my passion for teaching in the redacted Social Outreach program.Explain the reasons for any unusual features of your career (taking a year out, poor performance, etc.). Include cordial and extracurricular activities to show balance in your life or because they are relevant to the course. In selecting the University of redacted I have been influenced by the way your research program addresses biological questions at the levels of molecule, gene and cell. I am particularly looking forward to such courses as Developmental Biology and Bioinformatics. I am also excited to interact with Professors redacted and redacted whose work is juxtaposed to what I want to practise for the original research component of the MS degree.I have been corresponding with redacted, a current student, from whom I have wise to(p) about the collaborative environment at redacted where I will interact with talented students, teachers and industry professionals. I believe that I will be a ble to contribute to and learn from the academically challenging environment at the University of redacted.
